  • Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water and try flavoring it with fresh fruit for a healthy twist
  • Try a cooling gadget - more information is available from the MSAA
  • Accessorize - use a wide-brimmed hat to keep the sun off your face
  • Find a cool spot to relax - how about your local movie theater or library?
  • Indulge with some cool treats - spend time with your family at an ice cream parlor or water ice shop

New MS therapy could build autoimmune tolerance

This article appeared in USA Today on June 5, 2013. If the immune system is the body's army, autoimmune disease is a mutiny. Researchers at Northwestern University are trying to reverse these diseases by paralyzing the rebels. Though the research is preliminary, a paper published today in the journal Science Translational Medicine shows that this approach is safe for patients with multiple sclerosis. READ MORE.

Staff will be at St. Luke's Neurology Associates in Bethlehem from noon to 8 p.m. to answer your questions about MS and the latest research, discuss the programs and services available in your community, and provide assistance with referrals to physicians, allied health professionals and other service agencies. Sept. 21 and 22 - Bike MS: Bike to the Bay

 

This year, our friends at the Delaware Chapter are hosting the 30th annual Bike to the Bay event. This two-day cycling adventure will take you through the quaint, rural towns of southern Delaware all the way to the coastline. Learn more

 

Sept. 28 and 29 - Bike MS: City to Shore Ride

 

Now that the weather is warming up, why not enjoy the outdoors and start training for City to Shore? Join 7,000 cyclists and ride through some of the most scenic routes in New Jersey to make a difference in the fight against MS. Learn more.
