Chapter receives 2013 Inglis Award for Continuing Excellence

Chapter logo.jpgThe Greater Delaware Valley Chapter will be honored with the 2013 Inglis Award for Continuing Excellence at a ceremony in May. The $10,000 award honors the outstanding performances of five not-for-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia region that enhance the quality of life for people with physical disabilities, and by doing so, supports the Inglis mission of enabling people with disabilities - and those who care for them - to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Inglis is the parent corporation of several entities, including the skilled nursing care facility Inglis House.

“We greatly appreciate this recognition and the funding that comes with it,” says Karen Mariner, the chapter's Vice President of Advocacy. “These additional financial resources will allow us to take some innovative approaches to our work and enable us to reach even more people with our much-needed services.”

Walk MS continues on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5

cropped -walk.jpgWalk MS kicked off on Sunday, April 21 at six sites across the Greater Delaware Valley. Thank you to all of the walkers and volunteers who made this event a success. We are sincerely grateful to every person for spreading awareness and raising valuable funds to support local programs and services and vital MS research. When Walk MS first started in 1988, there were no disease-modifying drugs available for people living with MS. Now there are ten! Just imagine what we can achieve together in the future.

Walk MS continues this Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 at eight sites in our area. Click here to find a site near you. You may register online before the event or visit the check-in tent to register on the day. If you have any questions, please contact the Walk MS team.

We need additional volunteers to help at the Coca-Cola Park, Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, and Pocono Raceway sites. If you or someone you know are interested in volunteering, please contact Joy McManus.
