MS 101 Telephone Support Group

Date:
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Repeat on the first Thursday of the month until 04/06/2014

The Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National MS Society is here to help you address the challenges of living with MS. To support you through your diagnosis, we invite you to participate in a new, professionally-led educational series and support group for those who are newly diagnosed (within the past five years). The MS 101 Telephone Support Group will take place on the first Thursday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m.

This monthly teleconference call - developed and presented by a man living with MS, Lamar Freed, PsyD - provides basic information about MS in the comfort of your own home. It covers essential topics about MS, leaving the participant both informed about the disease and equipped to find more information as it may be needed in the future. Dr. Freed will present essential information, and allow time for discussion, concerns and questions to be addressed.

Topics include:

  • MS Symptoms & Treatment Options
  • The Question of Prognosis: What will happen to me?
  • Fatigue Management
  • Who do I tell?
  • Accessing the Medical System
  • Effects on the Family
  • Diet & Exercise
  • MS and Your Mental Health
