Nationwide Service Provider of the Month
We are pleased to announce that HealthCare.gov is the National MS Society's Nationwide Service Provider of the Month. HealthCare.gov is the official website of the Affordable Care Act,
a Federal Law enacted in 2010 that is being phased in over multiple
years. As of October 1, 2013, new online marketplaces (sometimes called
exchanges) will offer a new way for people to shop for individual plans
and small business group coverage. Along with the establishment of the
Marketplaces, several provisions of the law will be enacted, including the establishment of Essential Health Benefits and ensuring no one can be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition.
As of late June, individuals can use this site to sign up for free updates by email or text, or ask questions through the online chat or toll free service,
and compare available plans right now. When the Marketplace opens in
October, people can use this website as a starting point to help apply
for coverage, compare plans, apply for subsidies, and enroll. This
provider appears on the Health Care Reform Resources page of the Society’s national website.
